Frequently asked questions
How do I connect Rhinokey Smartcard to my iPhone or iPad?
1. Firmly(!) pinch and hold the ON/OFF button until you hear a beep.
2. Open the Find My app on your supported iPhone or iPad.
3. Select the "+" and tap "Add Other Item."
4. Once your Rhinokey Smartcard is detected, tap "Connect." Choose a name and emoji for your Smartcard, then tap "Continue."
How do I charge Rhinokey Smartcard?
First, watch the charging instruction video above.
Any 15W wireless charger designed for phones will work. Chargers meant for smartwatches won’t be compatible. Make sure to use a compatible power adapter. Plugging the wireless charger into a laptop won't always work.
On the back of the Smartcard, you’ll see a small wireless signal icon. That icon needs to be centered on the charging pad—not the middle of the Smartcard itself.
When placed correctly, the Smartcard will show a red light to indicate it’s charging. Once fully charged, the red light will turn off.
How can you see the battery level?
When your Smartcard is connected to the Apple Find My app, you can see its battery level underneath the name.
You’ll also receive a low battery notification when it’s time to recharge.
How to reset Rhinokey Smartcard?
You may want to reset your Rhinokey Smartcard for some reason. Follow the instructions down below:
1. Please ensure "Lost Mode" is disabled in the Apple Find My app.
2. Remove your Rhinokey Smartcard from Find My app.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap “Remove Item”
4. A summary will open, tap " Remove" to confirm. (If it takes to long to remove the item, continue to step 5).
5. Press the Rhinokey Smartcard's ON/OFF button four times rapidly, then hold it at the fifth time until you hear a ringing chime after about 6 seconds, then release the button. (If it does not make a sound, do step 1 again).
6. Wait 5 seconds. Then hold the button down for 3 seconds, until you hear a chime, then release the button. The card has now been reset and turned off.
7. After waiting for 5 seconds again, hold the button for 1 second to turn it back on again. At this point it can be paired again in the Apple Find My app.
How can I get a notification when I leave my Smartcard behind?
Open the Apple Find My app, tap on your Smartcard, and scroll down to "Notifications".
Enable "Notify When Left Behind" and choose any locations you want to exclude from alerts.
How can I share my Smartcard?
Open the Apple Find My app, tap on your Smartcard, and scroll down to "Share Item".
From there, you can add someone you’d like to share your Smartcard with.
Troubleshooting
Rhinokey Smart does not connect/recognized by my iPhone
All Smartcards come fully charged, inspected, and tested straight from the factory.
1. Make sure you're pressing the ON/OFF button firmly — pinch the Smartcard as shown in the installation video. You should hear a sound.
2. Restart your iPhone. We've seen this help in several cases. Don't skip this step!
3. If you have a wireless charger, place the Smartcard on it. A red light should appear, indicating that it's charging.
If you don't have a charger, continue to step 4.
4. Really pinch the Rhinokey Smartcard's ON/OFF button four times rapidly, then hold it at the fifth time until you hear a ringing chime after about 6 seconds, then release the button. (If it does not make a sound, do step 4 again).
5. Wait 5 seconds. Then hold the button down for 3 seconds, until you hear a chime, then release the button. The card has now been reset and turned off.
6. After waiting for 5 seconds again, hold the button for 1 second to turn it back on again. At this point it can be paired again in the Apple Find My app.
The location can't be found, shown as “last seen a while ago” in red letters.
This means your Rhinokey Smartcard is out of battery and needs to be recharged. Please follow the correct charging instructions to get it working again.

Is the battery indicator still showing full? It’s possible that some pressure on the card accidentally pressed the ON/OFF button and turned it off. If that’s the case, try turning it back on by firmly pressing the ON/OFF button—pinch the Smartcard as shown in the installation video. You should hear a sound.
Didn’t work? Try the following steps:
1. Please ensure "Lost Mode" is disabled in the Apple Find My app.
2. Remove your Rhinokey Smartcard from Find My app.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap “Remove Item”
4. A summary will open, tap " Remove" to confirm. (If it takes to long to remove the item, close the Find My app and continue to step 5).
Getting a lot of “left behind” alerts?
Try the following steps:
Restart your phone. This can help Smartcard work better with your phone and GPS signal.
Check if your GPS signal is weak — that could be the reason.
You can exclude certain locations from alerts:
Open the Apple Find My app, tap on your Smartcard, and scroll down to “Notifications”.
Then turn off “Notify When Left Behind” for any places you don’t want to get alerts for.
